I just learned from this Cathy Seipp column that Jack and Bobby is a flop in the ratings. This is proof that there is, in fact, a God. I mean has anyone actually seen this tripe? The show is basically a thinly disguised portrayal of the John and Robert Kennedy, with the younger brother being the one to assume the presidency in the mid-21st century, with colleagues of the future president recounting stories from his presidency that purportedly relate to the youthful episode in question. The show is one of the most unwatchable pieces of crap that has ever assaulted my senses. The characters are largely detestable - with the future president spared largely as a result of his own blandness and cluelessness. The character is supposed to be a genius, but he largely impresses me as a slow-on-the-uptake Down's Syndrome patient. I guess they're arguing in favor of replacing the presidential motorcade with a little yellow bus. The plots of the show largely seem to be focused on showing how the initial biases and opinions of the main characters were entirely right and the future colleagues recounting the godlike infallibility of the future president. Being the kind-hearted guy that I am, though, I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions as to how show might improve its appeal:

* If the show's writers could take long enough away from the lubricating lotion and the Democratic Party roster to think about writing, they might realize that conflict and change are kind of necessary for a decent plot.

* If you really want to capture the whole Kennedy thing, you should add a gangster father who backs Nazis and brings his mistress to Sunday dinner.

* Have one of the colleagues recount something to the effect of "Well, you see, on that one we got screwed by our own delusion of moral superiority. When everyone told us that we were dropping a ten-ton turd on the country we just thought they were saying that 'cause they were selfish and mean-spirited. What the hell were we thinking?! The president really should have a put down the crack pipe for a few. Did we ever take it up the crapper on that one..."

I hope this helps.

Um...isn't this one of the seven signs of the Apocolypse. I think this is another.

Are these people out of their frikking minds?!?! Time for the A-man to dry up the left's benefactor. "Oh, Mr. Soros is long the Euro. Well, the dollar LIBOR could use a little strengthening...."
